Jennifer Caryn Brand, MPH, MS, CNS, LDN

Pediatric clinical nutritionist. Specialist in chronic skin conditions in children. The clinician other practitioners refer their hardest cases to. Family support and practitioner mentorship.

About Jennifer:

Jennifer Caryn Brand is a licensed clinical nutritionist and the founder of Rashes BeGone®, a private clinical practice dedicated exclusively to children with eczema, hives, and chronic skin conditions.

Her clinical work starts where everything else has already been tried. By the time most families find her, they have been through conventional medicine, integrative care, functional medicine, elimination diets, and supplement protocols, and the skin is still flaring. Jennifer's approach identifies what has been missed: the internal drivers that keep skin cases cycling regardless of what is done on the surface.

She is also the founder of Rashes BeGone® Professional, a mentorship program for functional and integrative practitioners who want to build clinical competency and confidence in pediatric skin cases. Practitioners in her program come from naturopathic medicine, functional medicine, nutrition, and integrative health, and they share a common gap: the pieces, but not the complete framework.

"These kids are not skin cases. They're also not food or allergy cases. They are immune system dysregulation cases that happen to show up on the skin, and most of them have already been through everything by the time I see them."

Jennifer holds a Bachelor's degree in Nutrition and Dietetics, a Master's in Public Health, and a Master's in Nutritional Biochemistry. She is a member of the American Nutrition Association and has served as faculty at LearnSkin. Her work is published in professional journals and she is a trusted referral resource for functional practitioners, naturopaths, and integrative clinicians worldwide.

Episode Topics

Why the Standard Functional Medicine Playbook Keeps Failing These Kids

Families who've done everything right  (conventional, integrative, even functional) and the skin still isn't improving. What that means clinically, where practitioners get stuck, and what changes when you address the actual drivers.

Why Elimination Diets Don't Solve Eczema, and Often Make It Worse

The most common recommendation parents receive, why it fails, and the downstream consequences: undernourishment, more food reactions, worse skin, and a negative relationship with food.

The Nutrient Gap Nobody Is Talking About in Pediatric Eczema

Critical nutrient imbalances Jennifer sees across the board in children with chronic skin issues, why they happen, what they mean for healing, and why elimination diets make this significantly worse.

What's Actually Driving the Itch (It's Usually Not Histamine)

Most kids with eczema end up on antihistamines and low-histamine diets. Why that approach misses the point, and what the real drivers of itch look like clinically.

Detox Protocols and Pediatric Skin: What Goes Wrong

Why parasite cleanses, candida protocols, and detox interventions often cause flares, and what actually needs to happen to support a child's detoxification pathways safely.

Eczema and Allergies: What Parents Are Getting Wrong

Two out of three children with eczema don't have food allergies. What parents and practitioners misunderstand about the relationship, and why the wrong interventions increase allergy risk rather than reduce it.
